This saturday we went to meet Chelly's family. Well part of her family that is. Since we have meet Chelly she has bragged about her Dad's calzonies. They lived in Italy for a few years and as the story goes he was taught by the Italians themselves how to make them. I had to try them. When it worked out that we could visit Saturday when her sister was in town, we jumped on the chance to learn more about our baby mama and our baby's family. We had a great day, even Mike who was missing out on the first game of the season for BYU football. Don't worry he didn't suffer. Thanks to technology he followed the game via internet on his I-touch then came home and watched it again. We brought a bunt cake. I was being silly and talked about the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding and thought it was so funny how they put a flower in the middle of the bunt cake. So, we did this for Chelly. She thought it was funny and we all go a good laugh as we tried to mimic how the lady said "Boont" cake in the show.
Chelly didn't lie the Calzonies were wonderful! Chelly's dad is a volonteer fireman and got a call right in the middle of making them. Luckily the family has made them for so long that Chelly's sister just stepped in and finished them. The Fire eingine came close to the house and we waved as it passed. They honked the horn (latter we found out it wasn't at us but at a car) and Maggie thought it was the coolest thing ever. She talked about it Sunday when she saw one on the way to church. It made her day.
We were glad when Will got back and we could talk and hang out. Chelly's parents and sister are so wonderful. They made us feel right at home. I know that we will be great friends and support for Chelly and this little guy though out his life.
