Date night interumpted.

Mike and I went out on a date this week.  We decided to go to the movies and then out to dinner.  About 30 minutes into our movie Mike gets a call on the cell phone.  Ten minutes later he comes back in to tell me that our new car is going to be delivered in an hour and a half.  First off it wasn't suppose to be her 'til tomorrow but and hour and a half.  Well at least the movie will be over, hopefully.  About 15 minutes later his phone rings again.  Out he goes and comes back only to report that the car will be her in 30 minutes.  So much for the movie.  We headed out just as it was getting good but it was worth it.  We (we being Mike really) have been thinking about buying a bigger more comfortable car for about 2+ years.  Finally with no car payment for the last 3 years and no signs of a baby coming our way Mike felt that it was time for us to live our life as it is and not on what it may be (ie- family of 3 vs. 4).  So he took me to test drive his favorite - the GMC Acadia.  It had everything we wanted (other than great gas mileage).   We have been looking for the last two months.  Mike has been OCD about it.  I guess he was afraid I would come to my senses and change my mind about having a car payment again.  We found one here, but just didn't like the sale company and felt that it was very over priced. They were such the old car sells man and we didn't want to buy from them but nothing else was panning out.  Mike spent hours on the internet looking for cars all over the US.  We decided to buy the one here even though it wasn't exactly what we wanted.  Mike set it all up only to be told hours later that they let someone test drive it and sold it.  Figures, never trust a car salesman.  We are now glad as Mike found our new car in all places Ohio.  It is a 2010 Black with tan interior (so no Fox hair will show).  Most of the bells and whistles we wanted too.  We made the deal and did everything over the phone and by mail.  We were very nervous to by a car sight unseen.  Our friend Matt encouraged us as he has done this many times.

Back to date night.  The car was coming a day earlier, but really the day they told us at first that it would be here.  We left the move and met the transporter at Wal-Mart just off the freeway making it easier.  Mike was like a little kid at Christmas waiting to go downstairs and see what Santa had brought.  The big truck pulled in and here it is...  Our new car.

How many of you can say you got our car at Wal-Mart?
Now how do we get it down you ask?  Well the driver of the truck wearing flip flops and climbed to the top and drove it down.  I couldn't even imagine having this job!

Definitely not what we were expecting to do for date night but it was memorable.  Went to a movie and came home with a car.  Maggie was so excited that this one didn't have to go back to the dealer.   "It's Ours?"  She said with a big grin on her face.  She has wanted a Big Car almost as much as a brother or sister.  We are so happy to have it.  We drove it everywhere for awhile but now keep it for long trips or as the second car as compared to the hybrid, well it is a gas HOG!

Here is a view from the back looking forward.
Here is a view of the front.

We love it and can't wait to take it on a Long Trip to Utah.
