August has been a blur of fun and getting ready for Preschool. Aunt Sherri wanted to take Maggie to the Lady Bug release at a local nursery.
Maggie just happened to wake up early from her nap so we headed over getting there just minutes before they were to let them go. Problem was, they let them go early. Darn them. They released about 20,000 ladybugs at once. There were still lots of them all over on bushes flying around and landing on you, underfoot - crunch. Turned out to be a good thing we missed it as Maggie started to freak out when some started to land on her. I don't think she was ready for the fact that they would like us so much. There was a girl who had one of her arms completely full of ladybugs. Maybe Mags was worried once one landed more would come. I guess the nursery gave out cups with hundreds of ladybugs in each one and then had everyone opens them up at the same time. We talked a girl into letting us take a picture of her nearly empty cup.
Sherri and I had fun while Mike protected Maggie from the horrifying bugs.
It was sad as every once in a while you would hear a crunch underfoot and you knew there had been a casualty. It was pretty cool and I do wish we could have seen it.
Maggie was all about the ladybug jumper house.
She just loves jumping. It helped turn a not so fun experience for her into the best time ever.
