Once in a great while the stars align and Mike and my schedules give us a big enough break over Christmas time to make it worth packing everything up and heading to Utah. This was one of those years. I couldn't believe how everything fell into place and that I was able to get two days covered/traded so that we could be gone for 2 weeks. Mike, Maggie, Me and Fox took off Dec. 17th and drove to Utah . It was a tight squeeze in our little Honda civic with all our stuff. Luckily for us my brother had gone to Utah a few weeks before and taken all our gifts with him (but there was still the problem of getting everything home). It was Maggie’s best drive to Utah since she was a baby (the good old days when she would sleep the whole way). We dropped the rest of our Christmas stuff and Fox the dog off at my parents house (aka-Grandma Margaret's) and headed for Mike’s Parents house (aka-Grandma Peggy’s) for a few days. We spent the days before Christmas visiting with family, shopping, and dreaming of a bigger car to take everything home in. Mike and his dad test drove a crossover but sadly Santa (with some coaching from me) said maybe next year. Guess we need to really try to be very good this coming year.
Grandma Peggy spent some special time with each of the grandkids this year and decorated gingerbread men or houses. Maggie had so much fun putting frosting on them with help from Grandma.
She thought that it was cool to lick the frosting off her fingers too.
Then Mags piled on, and I mean piled on, the sprinkles. Grandpa Les helped a little too but mostly just watched the fun and made funny comments like only he can.
