Ice-Skating in Midway

My nieces, Tabitha and Risa, and their families came up the day after Chrstimas. We all went ice-skating in Midway. Maggie got to go ice-skating for the first time. It was freezing cold but fun. I must say that it is hard to keep yourself upright when you have to hold someone else up. We all had fun.

After a few times around Maggie wanted a break so she sat down. Luckily we had put her in her snow pants so she wouldn’t get cold.

It was cool to see the Zamboni turn the little rink into glass.

Aunt Carolyn was the official picture taker as she hurt her foot teaching gymnastics a few weeks earlier.

Jeff, Hunter, and Katie went sledding instead of skating.

Lucky for all of us grandma was smart and brought lots of hot chocolate to drink and help us warm up.

We got the stroller out thinking Maggie would have more fun with this but it only took a few times around and she wanted to get out and skate.

Kristianna loved the stroller. Even Eli got in on some stroller time of the ice.

By the end we were all cold and warn out. Maggie was so tired that she fell asleep in the car just as we got out of the parking lot and then slept for 3 hours.

After Dinner, Risa and her husband were handed a gift bag. In it was the funniest thing. A bag with some longjohn P.J.s and a poem. It said something like these are some holiday family traveling P.J.s please wear them just until the next holiday and then wash, mend, and pass them on to the next family member. They are white with red kisses all over it. My dad bought Risa’s husband, Mike a snuggy (a blanket with arm that is all the rage right now). Mike was always getting cold on the hunt this year so my dad thought it would be funny to get it for him. Mike being a good sport and willing to do anything jumped up and put the P.J. on with the snuggy and his socks pulled up. He came out and strutted his stuff. It was so funny I almost peed my pants. We all laughed and talked about how he had the snuggy on backwards and he should get a superman “S” put on it so he could be …

"Supper Snuggy Man"

What a hoot. He loved it. He wore it that night to his sister’s house.
